This will be a step by step guide on how to setup a sms-forwarder to email. Any troubleshooting that is not discussed here please Provide feedback!

  • Verify that Automate is updated via play store (either use search bar “automate” or click profile in upper right corner, then click manage apps & device, then click on updates available, find automate and update).

  • then pull up gmail to get email address. click on profile icon in upper right to get this menu

  • email the account the FLO files, (download these to your machine first (right of file name)

  • Click into the email on the device and download these flo files.

  • Click allow if google is asking permission to downloads folder

  • Then click on the file name itself, and click import

  • check the 2 top boxes that say “access age restricted features” and “receive text messages (SMS)” age restricted will require a dob, put any date prior to 1/1/01, and allow access for automate to look at texting data.

  • click the pencil in the bottom right, then click the flow icon.

  • click on “sms received” box, remove the phone number at the top so all texts are forwarded to email, then click save.

  • click on “send gmail to “ccverifications@ticketboat.com”, on the top box click the drop down menu, select the actual email associated to the phone (that should be the only email option from the menu) click allo, then go down to the subject line and change it to just the phone ID. Finally, click save.

 

 

  • hit the back arrow, then click start, hit start again to confirm, Look to make sure the process didn’t end.

  • Finally, update documentation showing which phones have sms fwding setup. Currently, the document is titled “2_16 Accounts & Cards Assignments”.
