Workstation Setup Checklist

Do not connect to internet/network until prompted below!

  • Inventory Asset (Device/Computer) Acquired

  • Machine Checked for Windows Boot..

    • If Windows is already installed & machine is not already in a state of Factory Reset, reset the machine.

    • Hold Shift while clicking the reset button to access the Troubleshooting menu, then select Factory Reset and make sure to continue to click “Next” until it says that the machine is restarting.

    • If Windows is NOT installed, find a USB drive with Windows 10 Pro

      • If none is available, find a blank USB drive with at least 8-16gb total storage and download the MediaCreationTool

        • With the USB plugged in, you can create a Windows Install Media USB stick using that program

      • Boot up PC with USB plugged in, Windows Install prompt should start automatically.

        • IF IT DOESN’T, you may have to adjust the boot order in BIOS to boot first from the USB stick:

          • To get to BIOS, either reboot while holding shift & select “Boot to UEFI…” option (may be slightly different) or -

          • Reboot computer and mash on F12/F10/F8 (its different depending on the computer)

    • Windows installed

  • Windows Set Up w/ Admin Account

Connect Ethernet cable / Connect computer to network

  • BEGIN WINDOWS UPDATES

    • Go into Updates & select “Install updates as quickly as possible” and agree

    • Click “Check for updates” when the button pops up

      • Continue clicking “Check for Updates” and waiting for it to load until you see “Optional Updates”

        • On Windows11 you will be able to go to Advanced Options > Optional Updates right away

    • Select all optional updates and agree/install

ALLOW ANY DRIVER UPDATES/FIRMWARE UPDATES TO COMPLETE BEFORE MOVING ON.

CONNECTING TO DOMAIN WILL TRIGGER GROUP POLICIES TO BEGIN DOWNLOADING AND SLOWING DOWN THE COMPUTER, ENSURE ALL DRIVER UPDATES AND WINDOWS UPDATES ARE DONE & ‘NO UPDATES AVAILABLE’ DISPLAYS

  • Connect to Domain ticketboat.local

  • Name computer with formatting INV-XXX

    • Check the inventory list to be sure you’re not creating a duplicate number

  • Add domain user as local admin to machine:

    • Local Users & Groups > Groups

      • Right click on Administrators

        • Properties > Add… button

          • Type Username of user you want to add, then click check name to verify username is correct.

          • Click ok

  • Switch to your own user (with Admin rights.)

  • Go to Toolbox, drag Device Setup forlder to desktop and install:

    • AnyDesk

      • Set password for Unattended Access as “Ticketboat123$123

    • EIBO

      • Make sure to run “CR32Runtime…” file prior to installing EIBO

    • Mutlilogin

      • No need to log in, you’ll need to do so under the new user’s log in later.

    • TII/PII

      • Generally wait as close as possible to the user’s start date to add this in case it gets updated between build date and start date.

  • Laptops

    • NetExtender

    • FunnyTree Remote Apps

  • Department Specific

    • Accounting: Quickbooks

    • Some Viagogo/Zones Employees: Office Standalone Apps
