[TROUBLESHOOTING] 'ISP Down' SonicWall
In the event that one of our ISPs go down or become unavailable, it is important to get them back up while we troubleshoot the issue. Below will go over the basic steps on how to reroute specified items using the hard phones as an example.
In SonicWall > Manage > Network > Failover & Load Balancing, a page will pull up showcasing the groups created based off our ISPs. Currently our ISPs are Google Fiber (X1), Spectrum (X2), and ATT (X3). In the event our firewall does not detect one of them it will display here on this page as ‘Target Unavailable’.
Things are setup to failover in this order, X1 > X2 > X3. However, some items are only able to be on X2 or X3. So if X2 goes down, it won’t failover automatically. For example, our 8x8 service does NOT work on X1. So, we have it on X2. If X2 goes down, we need to move them over to X3.
Still under manage, go to Network > Routing.
This will show all the labeled IPs and what Gateway they are assigned to.
Find the item(s) you are changing.
Click the Edit button.
Change the interface and gateway to the desired one using the dropdown menus.
Click Save for the item(s)
